The basics of how to navigate daunting real estate contracts.

How much do you know about real estate contracts, and how much paperwork is involved in a transaction? When you buy or sell a home, it can be intimidating to conquer the contracts, and you should be aware of what you’re signing. To help with this, we always review the mandatory contracts in detail with our clients. This paperwork outlines all of the services and details that are part of a transaction.

These contracts were created by the Florida Real Estate Board and the Florida Attorney Association. Therefore, this verbiage wasn’t done by us and was given a lot of thought and care over the years.

"It can be intimidating to conquer contracts, but we can help."

Once things are signed, we always create a timeline for our clients as well as the Realtors and other professionals involved in the transaction. That way, everyone knows what the critical points and dates are, so everyone is on the same page.

Throughout this process, one question we get a lot is if our clients should work with an attorney. With this, we say that you can if you want to. Attorneys can be helpful, especially if they give you peace of mind. However, know that they’re not necessary. We’re well-equipped to answer your questions, and know that we stay on top of dates a client needs to do something by. We’ll make sure you understand what’s going on and show full transparency. If you want an attorney, they will always be a valued member of the transaction, and we can give you referrals if needed.

No matter who you decide to work with throughout your real estate transaction, just make sure they’re an experienced professional. You need someone who knows what to look for so they can protect you. We would love to help you with this, so if you are looking to buy or sell a home, don’t hesitate to reach out. You can call or email us anytime!
